Ok... recently i got sick and tired of windiows vista.. so i thought it was about time for a change. I went to my friends house and his dad taught me quite a bit of stuff about partioning, because what i want to do, is partion windows XP SP3 with Linux Mint 4.0 (main version)

So i downloaded both OS's and extracted the iso files and burnt them as bootable discs.

Now.. my friends dad had no trouble atall with making HIS linux boot (he just wanted to show me what it would be like on my laptop) and then i was able to use it and so on and so forth blah blah blah. SO, now im trying to boot the XP SP3 disc so i can install it (and also take off the linux my friends dad installed) but when i put the cd in, and it tries to boot, it says at the bottom of alot of writing:

[DR-DOS] A:\>

So yeah, its telling me to write some commands but i cant do this attal because im crap with computers (as you can probably see)

So please could anyone tell me what command or file name i could write beside this "[DR-DOS] A:\>" please?

Heres a list of the files that are on the bootable disc:

CMPNENTS (folder)
SUPPORT (folder)
DOCS (folder)
I386 (folder)
VALUEADD (folder)
AUTORUN
SETUP
WIN51
WIN51IP
win51ip.SP2
win51ip.SP3
README (IE file)
setupxp (IE file)
VLK-SerialNumber (txt file)

First, this isn't a programming question, it's a WinXP question, and needs to go on that forum.

Secondly, it sounds like you have a copy, and whoever burnt your CD screwed it up. There's probably an installed in the i368 folder. Ask your friend's dad how to get access to it.
