Can anyone tell me if there is a visual basic function or ocx that can let a programmer to measure db and pitch form microphone or any sound file

VB functions no
OCX maybe

What do you mean by "measure".

Are you doing an oscilloscope?
or do you want numeric?

I don't think VB is fast enough to do the
raw processing for a real time display.
For high reoluion a DSP would be nice.

There are quite a few programs out in the
web that do the oscilloscope type display
using the sound card for input.

There are add-in cards and external devices
for wide range data acquisition.
