I don't think the first parameter is choose the area.
Display menu
Input choice
Input parameters
Clear screen
Draw item
Are the coordinates 1 row x 1 col ? or is the shape to be visually accurate?

Well the first parameter is where you choose the shapes.
4.right triangle

the second parameter would be where you select the length and width for the square and rectangle.the base for the triangle and the width of the diamond. It is suppose to look like the real shape.

I mention the the first parameter because you mention area which is a property of a shape.

To get an accurate representation of shape you wil need 2or3 horizontal spaces to equal 1 row (depending on font and screen.
** 1x1

* * 1x2

* * 1x3
