Specs: Windows XP

i am using the batch

set cnt=0
for /r "c:\xx" /d %%a in (.) do (
for /f %%b in ('@copy /y "%%a\*.txt" c:\zz ') do set /a cnt+=%%b

is there a way to copy only the new files ? (i must use copy cause i want to copy all the text files in the subfolders without the subfolders !)

i hope that by this i can get the real no. of files that were copied.

is there a way ?
