Copy a file using a Batch file

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1, Turion X2 2GHz / 1 GB DDR2
I want to copy a file using a batch file to my C: Drive, when the file to be copied may be in different locations, like the desktop or My Documents folder. The batch file and file to be copied will be in the same location, wherever that location may be.

How can I do this?

If both files are in the same location I think it's fairly simple

@echo off
copy "test.txt" C:

(obviously substitute the test.txt with the file name of the file you wish to copy.
