Specs: Windows XP
My computer was working fine last night. Was online at 4am and just doing my thing
I had just built my new desk and had reorganized my wires n whatnot. But, since I was online last night, I figure it would run fine this morning.
I dont turn off my computer like normal people, I keep it running.
I go into my computer this morning, remove spyware from my computer that had been scanned and detected at 5am (it has an automatic scan time), and tried to open fire fox.
Everything was working very slowly, so I quit out of a few programs and then tried to shut it down and restart.
This has worked in the past, but this time, it boots up normally, then it tells me that I need to stick my boot disk in and boot the computer up from a proper boot point.
Now, my computer worked fine five minutes ago, I was moving my mouse around on the screen. Why would it sense that it doesnt have an OS?

any disks in the drives or usb sticks connected?

Depending on the boot order in your bios, you may need to remove them

Yeah, I had that problem once when I left a pc game in the cd-rom.
It tried to boot off the cd yet the cd wasnt a boot disk so the pc went into a dumb state!

good luck
