Folks, I have a friend who has some Cobol Code that he'd like to run/read...somehow. I know nothing about Cobol, and I'm not sure in what form he has this code, but I'm wondering if there is some sort of file conversion utility that one can use to convert that code to something that would be readable. Thanks for any help...

Hi,

I guess the code would be a txt file..so try opening the code in notepad or something. If you want to run it try some PC COBOL compiler. There are many types of COBOL programs so I cannot know what it is about unless I see the code. probably its a batch program so you won't see any interaction..

you also have to check whether it is designed for mainframe or PC etc. etc.
