Cjhange owner's at C:\doc&set\name

Specs: Windows XP, Pentimum 4 2.4 GHz
Changed owner's name. Need to change at C:\doc&set\name. Can not rename. Error " Name is a system Folderand required for windowsXp

Create a new user account from Control Panel->Accounts with the name of your liking. That name will be in C:\doc&set\name, for the new account. Then you can delete the old user account, unless there are data files attached to it you want to save first.

Renaming such a folder for an active account is asking for trouble. That is why Windows does not do this when an account is renamed. The problem is that the registry and possibly configuration files will contain references to the original name. Finding and correcting all such references is a task few experts would care to attempt. If even one reference is uncorrected an application may fail in unpredictable ways.

When Windows refuses to do something like this there is often a good reason. It is trying to protect itself from careless damage by individuals who don't understand the implications.
