Solved Child batch windows hang up job flow

December 8, 2012 at 19:38:31
Specs: Windows 7, 2b2.4 / 4G

I've got a batch routine which opens a series of other batch files. The problem is when they are done their windows are remaining open. So I have to manually close them. Then in the mother batch, I am presented with a "do you want to terminate batch job" query, which I have to answer No to.

So there are two problems, and maybe they are related. I want to close the child windows when their routine is accomplished, and I want the mother batch to continue processing without my input.

The commands in the mother batch look like this:

start /wait "blah.bat"

And the child batches look something like this

blah.exe /silent

I'm mostly on Win7, sometimes on Win XP.

Awesome, Razor, thank you. I have some work to do on other aspects of the setup, but this thing was flowing very smoothly today. Thanks again.
