can't install VS C++ 6.0(help!!!)

I have the disk of Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. when I install it, it show "The Visual C++ 6.0 Introductory Edition setup failed.
Please try re-running the Installation Wizard.

My computer work with XP system. My teacher teatch C language with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and use it to test so I must install it. I also use many way to solve but in vain. I have used the way on the (TechNet) but failured. How can I do to solve the problem ?

Well, if you really did do everything in that article, you very well may be S.O.L. You could try the newest version of Visual Studio. The Express version is free, after all.
