can't install VS C++ 6.0(help!!!)

Specs: N/A
I have the disk of Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0.
when I install it, it show "The Visual C++ 6.0 Introductory Edition setup failed.

Please try re-running the Installation Wizard.

For answer to common installation qustions and updated information about

this product please visit the Microsoft Developer Network(MSDN) websote

and then show "Couldn't find Acme setup"
How can I do to solve the problem ?

My computer work with XP system.
My teacher teatch C language with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and use it to test so I must install it.
I also use many way to solve but in vain.
I have used the way on the (TechNet) but failured.
How can I do to solve the problem ?

Well, if you really did do everything in that article, you very well may be S.O.L. You could try the newest version of Visual Studio. The Express version is free, after all.
