I am facing a problem with my server Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005) Cannot open database ". It may not be a database that your applocation recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
My asp page isn't able to open up the database which it previously was able to. I am uploading via frontpage. I suspect it is a server problem.
problem is i delete the server copy of the database and upload a new one yet the same error appears. So I assume that is has nothing to do with corruption of the database .
Scratching my head over this silly problem. You know of any solution?
Can anyone enlighten me on what is going on? Thanks
Gd references and troubleshooting methodologies are welcome

Try a search at Google '0x80004005' there were too many listed for me to be bothered to find one relating to your specific problem, you may require an update from M$.

Off the top of my head, i think this one is caused by a file system permissions problem. The Anonymous web user doesnt have sufficient privileges to access the folder where the database is stored.

However, the problem is i am able to upload and access to the folder and i can open the database from the folder manually. It is just that my program couldn't open it which it was able to previously
Well, i have searched the web for solutions but couldn't find a rational explaination why my asp page couldn't open the database up
Glad if you could help. Thanks
