I just started learning C++. Can someone tell me how to turn my .cpp file into an exe file? so i can run it without using visual C++ Thanks

Do you have Visual C++? If you don't get yourself a C++ compiler. Lots of free ones about - look up the freecountry website. MS do a free one called Express. Great for noddy stuff.

Say you're using the gnu compiler. On the dos prompt, type

g++ file.cpp -o file.exe

And that is it. With Visual C++ it is something similar using CL.
