Hi,
Not exactly programming, but doesn't fit any other category better.
I have an ISO image of a boot CD.
Neither of the burner SW I have weant to make a boot CD from the image.
I don't want to install yet another app to get this done.
I read an extensive article about the disk structure. In brief, it tells me that the 2048 byte file, often called bootcat.bin needs to be first and it points at the next.
If I put these two on as first and second files, do you think it will fly?
TIA

If it's an ISO image, it will already have everything needed if the original (from which the ISO was made) was bootable. If you are using Nero, go to the Recorder Menu and select Burn Image.

Just to elaborate:
An ISO is a complete image of a cd. It contains everything, from the file system of the disk to all the individual files all bundled into one big one. Because it contains the filesystem itself, you can't burn it to a disk like a regular file. Regular files get ADDED to the existing filesystem, whereas an ISO image IS the filesystem.Your computer probably has ISO software installed already, if not, Nero is free (I think). Just make sure when you burn it that the settings in the program are correct for your drive, some programs don't detect it correctly and the burn will fail.
Hope that helped.

Hi Guys,
Yes, we all ought to reply. I apologize for not.
You are both right on.
As I said at the outset, I don't want to install more apps.
I have MusicMatch which will do all burns except:
copy CD
make a bootable CD
burn an image.
And I have a brand x burner [B's Gold] which came with the Sony drive, which will do copy and bootable but won't burn an image.M2
