I need a batch script to open an excel .xlsx file and convert it to save as .txt tab dilimited file.

First I would figure out how to open the excel file. That would most likely be done via Excel itself since the Excel extension is assigned to open with Excel. The real thing then is to have it converted. Again, this would most likely happen with a third party converter where via batch the Excel file would be opened in the converter and finally saving as TXT. For that matter I would research Excel conversion first. If you do find a next would have to see if it is possible to use that converter via command line in which obviously conversion could take place via bat.
