Batch file to move shortcut but not target

March 19, 2011 at 02:28:43
Specs: Windows XP
@echo off
move %1 "C:\Documents and Settings\mark\My Documents\Working"
exit

This moves the target of the shortcut instead of the shortcut.
I want to move just the shortcut and leave the target where it is.
Can anyone help with a simple solution?

This moves the target of the shortcut instead of the shortcut.
It shouldn't. How are you invoking the script?

Maybe...

move %1.lnk "C:\Documents and Settings\mark\My Documents\Working"

Like said above what is it that you are passing to the %1 attribute?
