Batch file to create folders

June 16, 2010 at 06:44:58
Specs: Windows Vista
I am trying to write a batch file that will prompt for a folder name, when entered it will then create a folder by that name and 6 subfolders called folder 1, folder 2, etc. two of the subfolders will have additional folders called folder a, folder b, and folder c.
I have minimal experience writing batch files so any help is appreciated.

Put the following in a batch file. If you want to have spaces in the Folder1, Folder2 etc you need to look into quotes and variables.

You need to enter the full directory path, e.g. C:\MASTER you also need to make sure you have rights to do this. You may also want to look up icacls to set permissions on the folders.

set INPUT=
set /P INPUT=Type Full Directory Path: %=%
mkdir %INPUT%
mkdir %INPUT%\Folder1
mkdir %INPUT%\Folder2
mkdir %INPUT%\Folder3
mkdir %INPUT%\Folder3\FolderA
