Specs: Windows XP, 2.4 3GB
I need a batch file that asks a user for both, the unc path to a folder on a server to copy from.. and a destination path to copy those files to a laptop the batch file is executed from. After grabbing the input, the batch file finishes by creating a new batch file in the same directory with the new file containing xcopy commands, complete with the paths the user entered. Possible?

To my understanding you can use UNC path's in a batch file.

However this shouldn't be very complex to accomplish as you can use mapped drives instead.

I need some clarification.

You want to set a source path (UNC) and target path (Local or UNC?) Then have a new batch file created in what directory (Source or Targert?) and then copy the files/folders from the source to Target?

Let me know as I have something very similar to this that I can modify for you, just need a better understanding of what you're trying to do.
