I am looking to create a batch file that will auto answer questions during an install of software. ie when I run an .exe file that was downloaded from the Internet I am prompted by User Account Control are you sure you want to run this file I then have to click yes. I would like to input a command into the batch file to say say.

✔ Best Answer

You can't since a batch can't interact with GUI window or box, it can hadle just text. What you need is VBScript, though a tricky way.

Being able to script away the UAC dialog would kinda defeat the purpose of the UAC, chief.

I don't think you can script away the UAC, for that would be a huge security hole. You can run the batch in elevated mode, though, and just have to deal with one UAC no matter how many progs you call.

As far as an answer file, the best I know of is to use switches in the command line to tell the installer what to do. For instance, /S often works. There are script-based installers available that will do what you want.
