automatically download

I runa report in internet explorer and it outputs an excel file. the problem is that i have to click 'open' or save as in order to get it. This problem is componded because if i don't act on the prompt in under a minute I lose the connection link to the excel file. Is there a program that can do this. or can i write one in vb. How would you go about this task?

I don't know VBS, some folks here do. But whether it's to be VBS, WGET or whatever, is the file name and location consistent? ===================================== If at first you don't succeed, you're about average. M2
