Auto run exe slow

I am running a VB program on a remote server. Basically it uses API calls etc to run a program on another machine. Normally the program takes only a couple of minutes to run, but when the VB Program runs it, it's taking much longer (currently about 50 mins) - any ideas?

Aha - sorry to waste the board's time - turns out the exe I was calling was hanging, but there's no feedback of that so it just looks like it's still running...
