Acquire md5 hash from a file

Specs: Windows 7
Just need this to verify a few files. How will this be possible?
oh crap i meant of a file i don't feel too well lately.

Yeah, i am aware of applications created for this purpose obviously. I meant how can this be done with batch? without requiring user input(of course). It will be a menu which will verify each file before proceeding.
That is why i asked in the batch section.

There is no native utility to compute md5 hashes for Windows, nor do batch scripts contain the logic required to create your own md5 hash from a given file. (It's possible to write your own hash generator in VBScript, and PowerShell allows you to access the .NET md5 hash generator, but neither is possible with straight batch.)
