My new news server (since AT&T is dropping USENET) just added this
group. I suppose this will be the first post showing here.

On Xnews, click GROUP pick CATCHUP then pick CATCHUP AND PURGE and it will
recover from the change.....

If a man goes way out into the woods all alone and says something,
is it still wrong, even though no woman hears him?

To be clear, I meant "here" as "here in my newsreader".

Thanks, but the problem is more likely because no prior messages exist
on my news server. There might be some way for Xnews to grab
messages from my current news server's peers (or from wherever), but I
was kidding and it is not a problem.

When you download the entire header list, it sets all the message numbers
to the new server for you....only takes a minute or two on broadband....

There was no message list, Larry.

MY NEW NEWS SERVER HAD JUST ADDED THE GROUP, LARRY.

IT WAS NOT JUST A NEW NEWS SERVER, LARRY, IT WAS A NEW GROUP ON MY NEW NEWS SERVER.

THAT SERVER HAD NOT CARRIED THAT GROUP UNTIL THE DAY I POSTED, LARRY.

What part of that do you not understand, Larry?
