Yahoo messaing on iPaQ - Not connecting

I have downloaded the yahoo messaging onto my ipaq. I can connect and browse the net fine. When I try to connect to yahoo messaging with the same connection, it tries to connect and then comes up with my friends list but states "no connection". I have checked for proxy settings and gone through the help fine on the yahoo mobile page http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mesg/twin/twin-02.html but this does not seem to work. Help....any suggestions?
