My original version of windows CE on my PDA is version 2.0. But I have downloaded a newer version of windows ce2.2 from the web
http://www.uniden.com/pda/downloads.html.
Its manufacturer name is Uniden and model is Unipro PC100. Originally installed operating system is windows CE2.0.
I want to upgrate my version form 2.0 to 2.2.
But after upgrating process and synchronization process, it is upgrated on my desktop PC , NOT on my hand held PC.On my handheld PC, system version still shows V2.0 which is original version.
I would like to know how to upgrate my H/PC's system form 2.0 to 2.2
I hope somebody would have a great idea about it.

Windows CE is not Software in the normal sense of the word. You can't go and buy a box from the shelf and install it like you would a dekstop or notebook pc.

Windows CE is stored on a piece of hardware called a ROM chip. Inorder to upgrade the Operating System you have to replace this ROM chip with a new one that contains the update.

If you are using Windows CE 2.0 at the moment you can further update your desktop software by downloading version 3.5 of the host & sync software (now called ActiveSync) from:
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/downloads/activesync35.asp

As for the availability of a ROM upgrade chip you will have to contact the manufacturer for information.

For reference. According to the web site you provided, your device is a Palm PC (P/PC) not a Handheld PC (H/PC)

You do not replace the chip to replace the OS. It's more like flashing the BIOS.
