I made a comparison of all pda's I could find between 200€ and 500€.

The first choice you have to make is if you want PALM (more productivity) or Microsoft Pocket PC (more multimedia and communication) like mattg144 said.

The second question is how much of 'expensive' s--- you want.
- Bluetooth
- WiFi
- Expansion slots
- Memory and speed

PALM is faster with less of memory, so be careful while choosing.

I have choosen for the Acer N10 with Pocket PC 2003:
- best price/quality at the moment!
- CF + SD/MMC expansion slot
- agenda/etc are good + you have Excel!
- a lot of applications + multimedia.
- voice recorder, build-in sound
- pictures, mp3, video, ... are supported
- more applications for Pocket PC available on internet. Some free
- enough memory and speed, but no bluetooth, WiFi, etc (but an expansion slot)

My sister has bought the PALM Zire 71 because PALM and it had a camera, but in my opinion, she had to give in on other things to get the same price.

If you choose PALM, I would choose a Thungsten!

I hope these tips can help you choose.

The Sony Clie' PEG-TG50 (if you can still find it)! It uses the Palm 5.0 OS. I bought mine 9/03 for $296.00. I needed something that was a true "pocket" computer - I carry it in my front pants pocket. It has a flip cover - no need to put it into a case or some kind of "bag". It's 1/2" thick with the cover closed. Highest quality 320 x 320 display, built in lighted keypad under cover, fast processor, mp3 player, nice speaker & headphone jack, some nice software, voice recorder, bluetooth, infared, etc. I've not used the bluetooth yet, but I can print stuff out by pointing it at my printer with it's infared port. Cool. I did buy Documents To Go for it so I can view and edit Excel & Word documents. Also a 128MB memory stick. I "shrunk" some photos because no need to view a 4 X 6 photo on a small screen. I have more that 2600 photos on my Sony Clie'! Most of the photos are used for my business. Of course I use it for pleasure too. I can read books on it and download daily news via the internet and cradle connection. I've not used it to it's fullest potential yet. This Sony Clie'PEG-TG50 is such a wonderful little device. I use it all the time. I can't say enough for it. Check it out.
