Hi,
I have been able to hotsync my Palm Vx with Windows 2000 using a Palm USB kit.

Thanks to Lou for the information. Here is something that I gleaned from it that helped.

Installed Palm Desktop 4.1, then the USB connection kit driver for Windows on my machine. I also upgraded my Palm Vx to Palm OS 3.5.3 using a serial cable on another machine. I also have a very old PIM (ECCO Pro from 1997) which has all my data.

I checked the local Serial option on the Hotsync Manager and I was able to Hotsync. The local USB option does not have much impact. This is counter intuitive.

Cheers.

Which USB kit did you buy? From where?
I have Portege 2000 laptop. The Toshiba help desk suggested that I could hotsynch through infrared but doesn't seem to work.. Portege doesn't have a serial port..
