Unable to install IPAQ ActiveSync

I'm currently using Palm Tungsten T with the usual computer-syncing setup. I just bought an IPAQ 2215 to switch to, but the Companion CD will not install on my computer. It freezes on a blue screen. (I am able to install other programs from CD's, and I have enough memory.) I don't have enough computer knowledge to figure out what the problem is. Can anyone please offer suggestions?
