I have a problem about connecting my ipaq H3630 to my computer. I am running winxp pro on my pc. I have pluged it in the cradle and the activesync (the newest version)is searching for the device, (i'm connecting through the com ports) but it say it cannot connect to the device. What can i do? PLEASE HEEEEEELP

Are you sure you are using the serial connection or is it really the USB?
Is the serial COM ports enabled in the BIOS?
Did you load the drivers?

Hi,
Try this simple registry fix, works with any version of Activesync:-First, set your com ports to 115000 bps (in device manager), also on your iPaq. Next, goto, the start button, run and type in the window regedit, hit return
Goto - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Goto - Software Goto - Microsoft Goto - Windows CE Services, by selecting Windows CE Services you should see options in the right hand pane.
Double click on SerialPort and enter whatever Com port you have connected your docking station to, I use COM2, Note, there is no space after COM, i.e. COM1 or COM2.The synch should start now and may take up to 5 attempts to successfully work.
As in any time you want to alter the registry it is always best to back it up, simply select file and export it to a folder that the original is not already saved in.
Trust me, I have never managed to screw this operation up.
Let me know how you get on.
Alan..

Only a suggestion,
Had same problem (not WIN upgrade, just wouldn't synch) with 3870.
Did a "backup" on the PDA and then the unit would synch.
This worked for two different PDAs.
Good luck..
