Synching Outlook emails...

...we're having an issue with a user who lost a small portion of his Inbox on Outlook. He also uses a Compaq PDA (Ipaq) to synch with Outlook. We do not yet know why he's lost only that portion (id10t error?), but to this point they are unrecoverable. Now, here's the catch: some of those lost emails are on his PDA.
I'm not up on the PDA synching process. If our user synchs his PDA Outlook with his computer, will those emails from the PDA make their way to his Inbox? I guess what I'm asking, is there a way to restore those lost emails from his PDA to his computer's Outlook?
