Sync problem W/ Sony Clie PEG-s360

Everytime i try to Hot Sync a message comes up saying "the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." I know that my cable connection is right and local is checked on the hot sync manager, yet nothing is working. Is there a driver i should have to enable the hot sync, because it sure didn't come with the installation CD and i can't find it in any of the sony handheld folders.
