I have the opportunity of purchasing the Sony listed above for $15 or the Palm for $12 but not sure which to get.
All I need it for basically an address book, calendar and to do list.
The Palm has:
16 MHz Motorola 68328 Dragonball
8mg memory
160 x 160 resolution
2-bit (4 grayscale)
Expansion slot: No
Handwriting recognition: Yes, Graffiti (which is important to me)
Battery type: 2 AAA
Docking cradle: Yes
Upgradable features and operating systemThe Sony has:
Motorola MC68EZ328
8mg memory
160 x 160 resolution
Display: 16 grayscales
Expansion Slot Memory Stick Slot
Battery Type Proprietary Lithium (not sure if this battery is removable or not. Very important to me)
Built-in Devices: Display, Jog Dial
Electronic writing padThis things I’m mainly concerned about with each.
Palm:
Is 4 grayscale enoughSony:
Lithium battery – I know these are better then the 2 AAA but if the battery dies would I need to trash the PDA. It does not state the battery is removable. It would be great to be able to show off some photos also. Is grayscale at 4 or 16 be good enough.
Thanks for your input,
Debbie

well you can download some applications that help change the IIIxe from 2 bit to 4(16 shades grey) as I have a program from mike mcollister called screen. :) the slot is only for a memory stick and can't use an SD slot. The stick is also made by sony. if you get the palm IIIxe you can download os 4.0 which gives an electronic notepad or download a third party version. I noticed this was made on November 17, 2006 so which one did you pick?
palm IIIxe os 4.0 free with quickbits and afterburner installed. My PDA uses the same amount of battery whether the CPU is overclocked or not. :
