why won't it sync? ok i did everything anybody ever suggested, i got the newest software and everything you need and i got it to work, but only sometimes! it works when it feels like it. right now, when i sync, winxp doesnt even see any connection, it's suddenly not even installed, like it all just disappeared, the drivers that is, and it just ignores it untill it gives me the usual conection error message on the pda.

hey
try the following steps
1.) Unplug the cradle from the USB port.
2.) Uninstall any/all drivers/software for your sony Clie model.
3.) download the new drivers from http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/clie/winxp-support.html
(you may gave to choose your model)
4.) Install the software. Note that you also have to download the update for HotSync along with your Palm Desktop Software.
5.) After Installing the software, restart the computer
6.) plug in the cradle in the usb port and put the pda in the cradle.
7.) XP should recognize it and hopefully you wont have any further problems.if you have any other questions ..feel free to email me at chaitanya41@yahoo.com
bye and have a nice day

I have the PEG-NR70V and currently using WinXP professional with sp1. I followed the directions and received the message that the port is being used by another application on the pda and on the computer a message that says that the hardware attached to the port could not be recognized. There is a solution to this problem on the website and i have tried that...soft rebooting, hard rebooting...reinstalling everything and so forth with no luck. I even removed and reinstalled the USB ports on my computer with still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
