Have some one else hold th unit and you stand in front of it as a test.

If it works you may have to pt the unit on a shelf or something and stand in front of it for it to work.

Coming home from very lonely places, all of us go a little mad: whether from great personal success, or just an all-night drive, we are the sole survivors of a world no one else has ever seen.

The mirror is to help you align the camera visually when you take your own picture, holding the camera at arm's length. Just center your face in the mirror.
