Replacing system fonts on PPC

AFAIK Frutiger is one of the fonts that come with the OS. However, I have a newer version of this font which supposedly supports Russian (it is definitely larger in size that the already-installed version). However, I don't seem to be able to replace the font in the \Windows\Fonts folder for the new version.
If someone knows a solution I'd appreciate sharing.
