hi,
i'm thinking of buying a Dell x30, primarily to read books and surf the web using wifi. as i've never used a pda before i'm unsure how well the dell will perferm these tasks ie.

how comfortable will i find reading books from a pda screen?
is surfing the web on a pda practical?

can someone with a bit of experience with pda's let me know what i can expect?
thanks

Surfing the web on a PDA isnt necessarly a bad thing but don't expect it to be as easy as surfing on a normal site. Some websites like Google and Hotmail have PDA sized versions of their site you can use. If you like to read Avantgo is a fantastic free service to get PDA some PDA sized reading material from various sources.

As for reading on a PDA some people find it more comfortable and others do not, you do have the advantage of having a stable light source to read by but to read in lower light situations you may need to turn down the screen brightness, which is easily done.

I for one read most of my books on my PDA as it is easy to carry them about with me and i find reading from the screen very comfortable.

All you need for reading on a PDA is Microsoft Reader, which comes pre-installed and obviously some books.

Hope this helps,

Matt
