Psion 3c into a linux terminal

Comment:
I've heard that Psions can be used as terminals on linux (I guess other *nixes too). 3c series are delivered with a serial cable and the port in the psion is too RS232 as pc's ttyS0 and 1 (COM2 and COM2), so I suppose it's possible, and not so hard and complicated. I'd like to try this out, but I have no idea what software should I use on the psion. So please, someone who has tried this could tell me the whole thing in a "nutshell". Just the main facts, such as the applications to use and so on..

Use Psion-I (or is it Psion-J?) to install the 'coms' application and use it. As far as setting goes, the link must be off, then start off at a slow speed and increase it until you get mistakes - I have done this in dos, using 'tty com0" to accept keyboard input from the serial port and 'mode' to control the port. I've never tried to remote into a linux box, but it should be similar. I do know that the kernel or modules need to be set up to accept commands over the serial line (dimly remembered from a nerve-wracking kernel compile).
