I tried to post this under the thread http://www.computing.net/pda/wwwboard/forum/712.html , but it wouldn't let me, saying the thread was too old...
I'm having problems with Yahoo Intellisync too-- I too just got an M130 (January 03) and am using WinXP. One thing I noticed is that Yahoo Intellisync does NOT list XP as a supported OS.
My problem: Yahoo syncs fine with my PDA; but the PDA and the Palm Desktop software aren't communicating. Sounds like a Palm problem, right? Nope-- it appears to be with Intellisync for Yahoo. Here's what I've tried:
1) I first tried calling Palm support. The guy had me right-click on the HotSync manager (in the system tray), then choose 'custom'-- then read to him the conduits listed. Because the conduits listed were Intellisync ones, he said that I would have to contact them.
2) Pumatech.com (makers of Intellisync) was sort-of helpful. They want $ for any support call; so I first tried looking through their knowledge base. I found a couple things:
--a) an article which I THOUGHT would be very helpful-- it was about troubleshooting communication problems between the PDA and the desktop software. It really sounded like the right thing-- but after doing what it said (checking COM ports in the device manager, etc.) I still had no luck.
--b) a link to "Intellisync for Yahoo"-- ah-ha! I thought. But this article simply says that Yahoo's Intellisync is OEM, and Pumatech does not offer support for it, and to contact Yahoo. For technical issues like this, Yahoo's support is difficult-- I've submitted my inquiry with lots of details, but I'm expecting back a form letters that don't help. I'm going to keep the email volley going until I solve it...
Anyway, I offer this info in hope that it might help someone out there; or that someone out there can help me!
