I'm looking to buy some PDA's for a group of medical staff who travel to patients homes. They want to write notes and fill in simple excel spreadsheets and then pass them on to a secretary at base who will load them into her PC and tidy them up. Is it possible to save the data to a memory card in the PDA and then insert it into a card reader on the PC? ie. use the memory card like a floppy disc. The one central Pc would be used for about 5 PDAs so the usual way of sticking the PDA into a pod and sychronizing with the PC wouldn't work, as each successive PDa would overwrite the previous data. I'm looking at the Dell Axim as it at least has a version of excel pre-loaded, but any help would be much appreciated.

Sure, you could use an SD card or a Compact Flash card.

Athlon 64 3000+ @2200MHz

Radeon 9800SE@9800PRO

Careful... The Dell Axim X3 (which I have and love) can only use SD cards, not CF ones. If you need CF, I recommend the Axim X5, which does both types. SD cards are great for your purposes as well, so I do recommend the Axim X3.

Oh, I forgot to say that you COULD use the one PC for all the PDAs. Its easy - just make a different partnership for eash PDA, and you're good to go!

Check your publications specific to the part of the medical industry you represent. You will find lots of software that works with the palms and various other hand held devices designed to do exactly what you want.
