My Compaq iPAQ h3950, with MS pocket pc 2002, does not recognize video files that I send to it. It gives an error message saying that I should run the application first, then run the program from there. This doesnt work with pocket media player.

This is probably because the video files aren't in a compatable format or you haven't enabled the reading of large media files from within media player. There are several media players available for different formats. I use pocket DIVX (project mayo), Pocket MVP, and Pocket TV. these will allow the playing of most DIVX, MPEG, and AVI files. The best thing to do if you want to use the built in media player is download microsoft's free media encoder and convert your video files to the proper resolution and sound quality.
