I am going to college in the fall and am thinking it might be a good idea to have something that i can carry around and mark down dates and appoitments that i need to keep track of, as well as be able to access my contacts fairly quickly. Checking email doesnt sound like a bad deal either but is that going to cost more? like the service fee on a cell phone w/ internet access? does it sound like a PDA is the thing for me? or is it just overkill for what i want to do?(i tend to like gadgets, i may just be trying to justify the purchase) i know i will want color display as i have heard it makes it much easier to read, but if anyone knows any other functions that would prove useful, i welcome any comments. thanks SOK

Hi, I think a PDA would be ideal for you at college. Probably a PocketPC version would suit you best if you've running Windows on your PC. Emails / contacts etc no problem by downloading from your PC. If you want email on the move, then you'll need bluetooth with a bluetooth phone and will will have to pay the phone company for you online time / downloads but for emails (without attachments) this should be ok.
