Can someone explain the differences between palmtops, handhelds, EPOC devices, SIBO devices, and Psion devices? I'm kinda clueless in this area and would like some clarification.

A palmtop is a description of a PDA computer
a Handheld PC (H/PC) is a PDA with a Keyboard running Windows CE
a Palm PC (P/PC) is a PDA without a keyboard running Windows CE, they are not made any more
a Pocket PC is the updated version of the Palm PC, and is using a hybrid version of Windows CE called Pocket PC
PSION make their own kind of Handheld PC
Palm make their own PDA which is the size of the Pocket PC
Then SH3, SH4, MIPS, StrongArm are Processors
EPOC, SIBO, Windows CE, Pocket PC and PalmOS are Opertaing Systems

I've been selling these kinds of devices for quite a while....
I highly recommend the Diamond Mako if you're trying to get a great handheld device with a keyboard (though small), at a good cost, with plenty of productivity software (has everything except a quicken type program with it, but that can be downloaded). You can also get a gameboy emulator (Goby) for the device if games are of interest. Right now you can get the full Diamond Mako system for $99 new. Ebay has had them going for $70-120 lately.
If money isn't an issue try one of the new HP Jornada computers with a Targus fold-out keyboard add-on; or even better, get a Sony subnotebook (a subnotebook is a full computer system about half the size of a laptop computer).
I wouldn't personally bother with Palm's, unless you buy a keyboard add-on and you get one that can accept compact flash memory cards.
