Before buying the PalmOne LifeDrive, it have the OS of "Palm OS 5.4 (Garnet)." I'd like to know if I can install Pocket PC as an OS to it, instead of the one they provide to it. Can I install it? Thanks

palm os is a flash rom built into the device, the only way your going to be able to do this (which will risk the device itself and i highly recommend NOT doing) is if you can get your hands on a flash tool to flash the ROM with your version of pocket pc os. i have never seen it done, but there are rumors that a palm treo 670 has windows mobile 2003SE on it. i just wouldnt recommend doing it because you could and probably will make your device useless and therefore will have to replace it.
dont attempt unless your really good with computers, and dont blame me for any problems becuase im basically telling you not to. i dont wanna be a prick, but im just letting you know its not a bright idea to try.
alcohol cause's amnesia and other problems i don't remember...
Summary: To reinstall the OS.. try a hard reset on the Ipaq. To instal the english version of the os.. install the current (free) upgrade PCC2002 from Microsft.. goodluck. ...
Summary: i'm not sure, but i believe 3.5 is a full OS. and then after you install that, you can use the 3.5.3 update on it. again, i'm not sure, so wait and see if anyone else answers it... ...
