Hello,
I am new to the world of these little computers, having recently aquired a Palm Vx. From what research I have done, it seems the only ways to connect my new device to the net, are the Palm modem, and some various cell phone modem options.
Is it possible to connect to the net via a serial connection to the host computer? or alternativly to connect to an ordinary 56k serial modem? The 33.6 modem for the Palm Vx is nearly half the price of the palm itself, and I don't own a cell phone, but I would like to be able to try using my PDA on the net if possible. Thanks for your suggestions,

Q1. Is it possible to connect to the net via a serial connection to the host computer? A1. Yes, Mocha W32 PPP is a software that makes it possible to connect your PalmPilot or Windows CE device to a Windows-95/98/NT directly through a serial cable or the Hot-Sync adapter, thus giving direct access to the Internet via your local PC. http://www.mochasoft.dk
Q2. or alternativly to connect to an ordinary 56k serial modem? A2. Yes you may connect your serial cradle to a serial modem, but you have to put a null modem in between.
