I originally received an error message that said the at the "mail failed when trying to login to the desktop mail system". I contacted palm who told me to uninstall/reinstall my palm desktop. I did this and now when I try to hotsync, my pda gives me an error on its screen saying that the connection between my handheld and the desktop could not be established. Does anyone know what to do?

If you are not using your email on the Palm Pilot, all you have to do is set that feature to "do nothing" under the custom option on the Hot Sync logo in the system tray.
As far as the error message about not connecting: check what ports it is trying to connect to. If you are using Serial and you reinstalled the software, it probably defaulted back to looking at USB. You can change this also by clicking on the Hot Sync icon in the system tray. Hope this helps.
