My m505 is all of sudden not turning on. It did this about 2 times (once a month for last two months), where I could reset it, and it would work again.
Now, it is completely dead, and pressing the reset does not do anything. The power button lights when it is in cradle, but it will not turn on, in or out of the cradle.I've tried opening the unit and disconnecting the battery lead for few minutes to "drain" the board, and when I plugged the battery back in, still no joy. I am wondering if the ROM managed to get corrupted.
Just last month, my wife's m505 stopped USB syncing. I opened it up, disconnected the battery to allow the USB controller chip to discharge, and now her m505 works fine.
I've been a loyal Palm user since the "USR Palm Pilot". I have to say that I am throughly disappointed with the m505 after 1.5 years of usage, and sadly, I might jump ship to another company...
Any help on my problems will be greatly appreciated.

One thing you could try, if you didn't already, is doing a reset after the battery is drained and again after you recharge the battery to see if that works. Did you try the hard and the soft reset?
Also you might try the forums at www.pdastreet.com
I think they are a lot more active than this one.
Good luck. I had a dead Visor recently and it was painful. So now I have a Palm... hope to have better luck with it.
