I had the same symptoms, and after a lot of heartache and hours of uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and manually editing the Registry, for me the solution was to completely drain the battery (hold the "down" button while pushing the hard reset on the back, then leave until battery completely drained). Then put in cradle, allow to charge for a couple of minutes, then do another hard reset, and allow to charge. Suddenly the Palm/Cradle came back to life. Life is good again!

I had a similar problem, and bit the bullet and called Palm support. I described the problem, and the help desk person said she would send me a "card", that once inserted, would correct the problem. There is no charge, period.Too bad you can't get that info on the website. BTW, my 505 is two years old, so well out of warranty.

I had similar experiences in the past on two occasions. Fortunately, palm support sorted it out on both incidences. This problem is referred as 'SUDS'- Sudden USB Death Syndrome. This caused due to static discharge. Palm was spot on! They replaced the sets. However, I ran into problem when a similar incident occured on the third occasion as my palm was out of the warranty period.

I took Stephen Dawsons advise and my palm is alive again. I am so pleased with his advise. Hope others who have suffered such problems try Stephen's recommendations.

I hope palm addresses such issues for future developments with the tungsten series!

Thanks Stephen...........
