Comment:

During a recent Hotsync operation with my Palm m100, I received a message
that there was a message in the log. The message said - correctly - that I
had a dublicate address. I then removed one incident of the address on
both the handheld and on the PC. After this I can no longer synchronize
on any of the two PC's (both Win2000) that I normally synchronize with. If I press the Hotsync button now, I get the message 'Connecting
with the desktop using DirectSerial', which I think is as usual. There
is apparently contact of some kind to the desktop as the 'Hotsync
Progress' dialog appears on the desktop with the following content:
Status: Connecting with handheld
User:
(As far as I remember, my name used to be stated as the user). However,
I do not get the 'jingle' and after a minute or so I get a HotSync
Problem message:
'The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not
be established. Please check your setup and try again.' and the 'Hotsync
Progress' dialog disappears from the desktop.
I have checked the name in the Conduit Manager and it seems to be set up
correctly - and I did not change it during the time the problem
appeared.
Free memory: 1336 og 1920K.
