Comment: Hi, I own a palm III which is running palm OS 4.1 currently. This thing has worked beautifully ever since the day I got it. And then it stopped. It won't turn on now, and when I insert a pin into the 'reset' hole, it makes a very audible hissy-buzzing noise, and the backlight comes on. When I release the reset button, sometimes the hissing and light stops, and sometimes it doesn't. I can't do a hard reset either. And if I try to do a HotSync, nothing happens... PLEASE HELP ME, I RUN MY LIFE BY THIS THING! either post a reply or email me at b_mewhiney7@hotmail.com

Reply: (edit)I know what you mean, I run my life by mine too. If you don't get an answer on this forum, try the forums at www.pdastreet.com. Does it have removable batteries? If so, remove batteries, leave out for about 45 minutes, try a soft reset 3 or 4 times, then replace batteries, try soft reset again 3 or 4 times. I got this advice from Handspring tech support when my Visor died. I paid $20 for the call and it didn't work. I ended up buying a Palm, but it's worth a try anyway. Good luck.
