I'm unable to hotsync my Palm IIIc with my iBook running OSX. I downloaded Palm OS, version 4.1 from the internet onto my iBook. I don't know how to check for the version of Palm OS I have on my Palm IIIc. I'm not able to locate the CD with the software that came with the Palm IIIc.
The error message is "The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again." I've checked my connections and they are OK. In the Palm 4.1 software, my connection setting is "enabled" and "USB" is selected.
The cable from the cradle is a serial connection that I have connected to a USB port on the iBook with a serial-to-USB adaptor.
I was able to Hot Sync with my PC laptop but have switched to the iBook.
