Palm Hotsync issue

I've just bought a new computer with Win2000. I've performed all windows updates and have got the latests drivers etc. I've installed Palm Desktop 4.1 with the latest drivers, including the latest Hotsync driver. I tried to syncronize my palm m100 with the USB connection kit. Nothing happens. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB adapter, nothing happened again. Any suggestion?
